Scott Mescudi was born on January 30, 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio (USA). At the young age of 11 years old, his father passed away from cancer. This had a major impact on him. However, he had one outlet to cope with the pain: music.

Nevertheless, if rapping was ever going to pan out, he knew he had to ditch the city of Cleveland. Hence, he moved to New York (2004) with a small demo and a pocket full of dreams.

While in N.Y., he managed to release his first mixtape, “A Kid Named Cudi” (2008), which caught the attention of none other than Kanye West. Consequently, Ye signed him to his label, “G.O.O.D. Music.”

One year later, he kicked off the trilogy with “Man On The Moon: The End Of Day” (2009), featuring the buzzing singles “Day ‘N Nite” and “Pursuit of Happiness.” In 2010, he kept the momentum and released “Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager.”

Not only did the audience learn the introspection of his persona but also of his alter ego, Mr. Rager. In addition, he tackled topics such as addictions and drugs.

In the years to come, he crafted LPs such as “Indicud” (2013), “Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon” (2014), “Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven” (2015), and “Passion, Pain & Demon Slaying” (2016). The aforementioned saw him checking into rehab for suicidal thoughts.

After therapy, he joined the “Wyoming Sessions” alongside Kanye, which birthed the record “Kids See Ghost” (2018). Indeed, he felt reborn and unconsciously began working on the final part of the saga.

Man On The Moon 3: The Chosen

Firstly, “Man On The Moon 3: The Chosen” (2020) kicks off with the perfect “Tequila Shots,” where Cudi is pre-celebrating the trilogy. The follow-up track, “She Knows This,” carries the beautiful trip with an uplifting beat.

Furthermore, on “Show Out,” he proves he can go bar for bar against artists such as Skepta and the late Pop Smoke (R.I.P.).

Undoubtedly, being sober is a process that needs dedication. Therefore, on the tracks “Solo Dolo, Pt. III” and “Sad People,” Cudi asks God for guidance.

Finally, “The Void” and “Lord I Know” describe temptations, and how he managed to reach the other side. Throughout the cuts, you can hear skits from the movie “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.” Surprisingly, it blends well together.

Many times we hear of artists tragically passing away. Luckily, he was able to escape the dark cloud to deliver the third act. Unfortunately, something Mac Miller didn’t get to do on “Swimming in Circles.”

To conclude, Kid Cudi’s record label is called “Wicked Awesome Records.” He is currently working on his new album and TV Show called “Entergalactic” (2022).
