Hubie Halloween is the latest movie by comedian Adam Sandler. Produced by Steven Brill, it stars Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Maya Rudolph, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, and Tim Meadows. When a convict escapes from the psychiatric hospital and endangers an entire town, a hero steps to the plate. Let’s dive into the Hubie Halloween review.
For better or worse, the self-proclaimed hero of Salem, Massachusetts is Hubie Dubois (played by Sandler). During the day, he works at a deli and takes care of his mother. However, he is a mockery to society, except for his crush Violet Valentine (Bowen), who sees a kind human being.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop Hubie from taking his duties seriously. Hence, he volunteers for Sergeant Steve Downey (James). Things get only spookier once Mr. Lambert (Buscemi) moves next to him.
Moreover, Halloween is around the corner, which means Hubie is on high alert. With the possession of his favorite tool, a portable Swiss Army Thermos, he is ready to serve and protect. Does he finally win the respect he deserves? Discover it for yourself!
Adam Sandler has been in the movie industry for 30 years and counting. His breakthrough role in 1995’s “Happy Maddison” opened many doors for him, including his company “Happy Madison Productions” (1999), which has blessed the audience with many gems.
Nonetheless, like any other Sandler movie, criticism comes along the way. In 2012, his comedy “Jack and Jill” won a record-breaking 10 “Razzie Awards”, better known as the anti-Oscars. Regardless, Adam has proved he can step out of the comedy world, as shown in Oscar’s overlooked “Uncut Gems“.
Additionally, a checkmate move for him was linking up with Netflix (2014) for a four-movie deal. His movie “Murder Mystery” (2019) alongside Jennifer Anniston was the most popular title of that year. To no surprise, the streaming giant doubled their accord.
Does criticism matter at this point? For decades, the Sandman has kept his inner circle tight. Mostly collaborating with the same familiar faces such as Kevin James, Chris Rock, Steve Buscemi, and Rob Schneider. Mixing work with family can be a deadly game, but it has paid off for them!
