There was a point in time when the human population was on and off enjoying their daily schedule. You know, kids attended schools, teenagers left their parents’ nest for college, and adults went to offices. Nothing remotely but actual physical presence (remember that?).

However, that drastically changed in 2009 (Zombieland) once a virus spread throughout the globe infecting millions. Unlike present times, this newfound pathogen didn’t kill the human race. It caused the infected ones to mutate into walking-deads.

This led to mass hysteria. But not Columbus (played by Eisenberg), a clever student who invented “73 rules” for survival. Unlike siblings Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin), who only needed one. Others like Tallahassee (Harrelson) were on a quest to find Twinkies.

As faith would have it, this unlikely team realizes they are better together than apart. And that is how they have remained for the next 10 years.

A decade later (Zombieland: Double Tap), they have found their new hide-and-seek at the Oval Office. Generally, a microbe keeps morphing into different deltas. Hence, zombies are now smarter (referred to as “Hawkings”), quieter (“Ninjas”), and harder to kill (“T-800s”).

On the bright side, Columbus and Wichita are an item. But once he proposes, she and Little Rock ditch them as she follows her inner rule.

Afterward, the girl-less duo encounters Madison (Deutch). A blonde with a little brain and a big mouth. A month later, Wichita crawls back to them stating Little Rock has gone off with a hippie (Jogia) to Babylon, a place dubbed as zombie-free.

Along the way, they meet Nevada (Dawson), Albuquerque (Wilson), and Flagstaff (Middleditch). Will the new squad find her? But most importantly, will they acquire what they have longed for since the virus outbreak? Discover it for yourself!

Despite the actual times, remember to follow rule #32 in life. That is, to enjoy the little things. Feel free to revisit my 2020 Halloween special!
